SLEEP MEDICINE
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, over 40 million people in the U.S. suffer from a chronic sleep disorder, costing employers over $18 billion in lost productivity. Insufficient sleep has been linked to car accidents, occupational hazards and chronic diseases such as diabetes, obesity, cancer, depression and a poor quality of life. Sleep apnea, a dangerous sleep disorder, can lead to high blood pressure and stroke. More and more, sleep is being recognized as important to achieving and maintaining good health.
